| What is Bandwidth and how does it work? | |
| How much is 1 meg?
Every time someone views your web page all of the data (html code, text, graphics, etc.) within the page must be transferred from your web server, into the visitor's computer,via the internet where it is viewed by a web browser. As a result, the amount of data transfer a hosting customer uses is related to the number of visitors to their site, multiplied by the size of their web pages. Graphics and other multimedia files account for the vast majority of data transfer used. This becomes apparent when you consider that the average text page consists of only of about 5 Kb of data, while images can be as large as 50-200 Kb in size -- and many images are often incorporated into each web page. Flash files are often very large, along with audio and video files. Live audio and video feeds can also be bandwidth hogs. A 3 minute MP3 file equals apx.3 megs per view! Bandwidth data transfer to a large degree are synonymous. 3 major factors to take into account:
1. The amount of traffic you receive
2. The size of your site
3. The types of files offered on your site.
How is transfer measured?
Formula: page size x page views X 30days=Bandwidth Transfer Page size:You have 10KB of text,60 KB of gifs would equal a per page size of 70K. Page views: you have 60 vistors that look at 4 pages per day equals 240 views a day. 70x240x30(days)=504,000 kb or approximately 504 mb, of bandwidth each month.(10 megs gets 1 gig(1000mb) of transfer per mo.)
One kilobyte (KB) is equal to 1,024 bytes.
One megabyte (MB) is equal to apx. 1,000 kilobytes
One megabyte is equal to 1,048,576 bytes
One gigabyte (GB) is equal to apx. 1,000 megabytes.
One terabytes (TB) is equal to apx. 1,000 gigabytes
So how much is one (1) byte?

Bit
A bit is short for BInary digiT. It is the smallest unit of information on a computer. All digital data inside a computer is represented using a binary number system where each number and character is comprised of 0's and 1's.
Byte
Eight bits of information is one byte, which is short for binary term. A byte is the amount of memory space it takes for the computer to store one character, such as the letter "A." 1 MB is equal to 1,048,576 bytes

If you go over your monthly bandwidth allotment, your site will be turned off automatically. You will have the choice of sending in an upgrade request, or to leave your site shut down so you do not incur any extra fees.

| How long does it take to set up my account? | |
| Once you receive a welcome email from VodaHos confirming that your payment has been received, we will begin the activation process. We cannot activate the account until payment is received--that is, until your credit card is approved or check has been received, processed and cleared. Normal wait time is less than 24 hours.
Our sign up proccess is not 100% automated. Due to a high rate of credit card fraud on the internet. We voice verify every new account before we activate it. This is for your protection, somebody using a stolen credit card number will not give his real telephone number (unless he is very stupid). Real telephone numbers can be traced back to a residential address. We report any and all credit card and PayPal fraud to the proper authorities. |

Another approach is to make the name memorable so that your customers can type it in without thought, the name does not have to be descriptive of the product you sell, for example amazon.com sells books. | How to avoid fight credit card fraud. | |
| Credit and charge card fraud costs cardholders and issuers hundreds of millions of dollars each year. While theft is the most obvious form of fraud, it can occur in other ways. For example, someone may use your card number without your knowledge.
It's not always possible to prevent credit or charge card fraud from happening. But there are a few steps you can take to make it more difficult for a crook to capture your card or card numbers and minimize the possibility.
Do...
* Sign your cards as soon as they arrive.
* Carry your cards separately from your wallet.
* Keep a record of your account numbers, expiration dates, etc...
* Keep an eye on your card during the transaction, and get it back as quickly as possible.
* Void incorrect receipts and destroy carbons.
* Save receipts to compare with billing statements.
* Open bills promptly and reconcile accounts monthly.
* Report any questionable charges promptly and in writing to the card issuer.
* Notify card companies in advance of a change in address.

Reporting Losses and Fraud
If you lose your credit or charge cards or if you realize they've been lost or stolen, immediately call the issuer(s). Many companies have toll-free numbers and 24-hour service to deal with such emergencies.
By law, once you report the loss or theft, you have no further responsibility for unauthorized charges. In any event, your maximum liability under federal law is $50 per card.
If you suspect fraud, you may be asked to sign a statement under oath that you did not make the purchase(s) in question.

1) All incoming orders are IP traced back to there root computer. This means if somebody in Nigeria uses your name, credit card and address to purchase a web hosting account, we will know about it immediately and we will not process the order.
Even if they try to "spoof" or "cloak" their IP address we can still trace the computer that the order was placed on, back to almost the exact location (Country, City, Street) to where the order originated. We have invested heavily in some very sophisticated IP tracking technology.
2) We manually verify almost every single order we get. This consists of...
a) Doing a reverse trace to make sure that the telephone number used during the sign up process matches the address given.
b) Giving you a "Welcome Call" and verifying that the order is legitimate.
3) All orders with IP traces leading back to Nigeria, Vietnam, Senegal, Yugoslavia, Ghana, Romania, Albania, Egypt, Indonesia and about 61 other countries are pre-flagged for fraud and are subject to a 24-48 hold period while we run several fraud checks.4) We have been in contact with the F.B.I. on several occasions and are subscribers to an international database of known fraudsters and fraudulent IP addresses that are automatically cross checked with all incoming orders.
5) We have several more fraud checks that we perform that we prefer not to disclose for obvious reasons.
